AceShowbiz - Kamala Harris is wasting no time in gaining the support of young voters. Shortly after receiving endorsement from Taylor Swift, the Harris-Walz campaign is selling friendship bracelets inspired by the singer.
The Harris-Walz official website started selling the friendship bracelets on late Tuesday, September 10. The bracelets, which come in two colors, black and blue, are made of waterproof materials with clays beads spelling the names Harris and Walz.
According to the website, the bracelets can be preordered now before the expected release date on September 24. The bracelet is priced at $20 and all purchases will go to a donation to the Harris Victory Fund. "Are you ready for it? Harris-Walz friendship bracelets are here!" the website reads, a reference to Swift's song "...Ready For It?".
Harris campaign also used the song for a new edit on its official page on X, formerly known as Twitter. Further making the most of Swift's support, Harris used the pop star's song "The Man" as her exit song post-debate.
Swift publicly endorsed Harris following the debate with Donald Trump on Tuesday night. Making use of her Instagram page, the 14-time Grammy winner posted a statement that read, "Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight."
Urging her followers to "do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most," she stated, "I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election."
The 34-year-old also explained her decision, writing, "I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades."
Addressing the false Trump endorsement claims, the "Fortnight" singer said, "Recently I was made aware that AI of 'me' falsely endorsing Donald Trump's presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth."
Taylor then signed the statement as a "Childless Cat Lady," a reference to Trump's running mate J.D. Vance's controversial comment.
