AceShowbiz - Jaime Bennington, son of late frontman Chester Bennington, slams the band for hiring Emily Armstrong as her father's replacement due to her ties to Scientology and convicted rapist Danny Masterson.
Jaime Bennington took to Instagram to express his disapproval of Linkin Park's current lineup, particularly targeting co-founder Mike Shinoda. He accused Shinoda of "restricting interactions on social media" and "quietly erasing his father's life and legacy" during International Suicide Prevention Month.
Bennington emphasized the controversy surrounding Armstrong's support for Masterson and her affiliation with the Church of Scientology. He claimed that the band had "betrayed the trust" of fans and those who supported Chester Bennington.
Armstrong has responded on Instagram, acknowledging that she attended one of Masterson's hearings but realized her mistake and has not had any further contact with him. Linkin Park plans to proceed with their new album, "From Zero", and tour despite the backlash.
The band has announced a new lead singer, Emily Armstrong, and drummer, Colin Brittain, to replace founding member Rob Bourdon. They will embark on a six-city international tour this month and release their eighth studio album in November. However, co-founder Brad Delson will not be joining the tour but remains a member of the band off-stage.
