AceShowbiz - Jennifer Hudson is getting into the holiday spirit with the announcement of her highly anticipated debut Christmas album, "The Gift of Love". Set for release on October 18, the album promises a festive blend of traditional and original Christmas tunes.

Hudson teased the record with a jazzy rendition of "Jingle Bells" on Instagram, featuring her placing presents under a decorated tree. The EGOT winner will cover beloved holiday classics such as "O Holy Night", "Winter Wonderland", "Little Drummer Boy" and "Auld Lang Syne".

The album also includes original holiday songs co-written by Hudson alongside Michael Pollack and J Kash. OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder executive produced the project, while Kirk Franklin, David Foster and Peer Astrom joined as producers.

Hudson's boyfriend Common joins her on the new song "Almost Christmas", while the South African quintet The Joy collaborates on a rendition of "Carol of the Bells". The record marks Hudson's first full-length album since 2014's "JHUD" and her first since the soundtrack for "Respect", in which she played Aretha Franklin in 2021.

Hudson's love for the holiday season is evident in her excitement for the album's release. "I cannot wait for it to be yours!" she exclaimed on Instagram. The holiday album is expected to spread joy and celebrate the spirit of giving, a tradition Hudson holds dear.
