AceShowbiz - Leah Remini and her husband Angelo Pagan have announced their decision to divorce after 21 years of marriage. In a joint statement shared on social media, the former couple expressed their sadness but also their positive outlook on the future.

"After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce," they wrote. "This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it's what's best for us."

The couple acknowledged that they had grown apart in recent years, as people often do. They explained, "We both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn't fit us anymore. After a lot of effort and consideration, we've decided to take this step, which reflects who we are today."

Despite their separation, Remini and Pagan emphasized their enduring bond. "Our bond is still strong-it's just evolved into something different," they stated. "We think a marriage that lasted this long and created so many beautiful memories, especially raising our incredible daughter, is something to celebrate. From our perspective, this marriage was a huge success."

They also expressed their desire to be transparent about their decision, as they had shared their marriage publicly over the years. "We are sharing this unknown territory with you all as we take our first steps into this next stage of our lives publicly," they wrote. "We would love for everyone to have more access to different kinds of relationship stories and not feel so isolated in navigating the changes that millions of couples make every year. We hope our journey can inspire others to see that relationships-whether they change or end-aren't failures."

Remini and Pagan first met in 1996 when he was performing at a Cuban club in Los Angeles. They married in 2003 and have a daughter, Sofia. Pagan also has three sons from a previous relationship.

Over the years, they have worked together on various projects, including Remini's sitcom "The King of Queens". Remini has also been a vocal critic of the Church of Scientology, which she left in 2013. Pagan followed her lead and left the church as well.

Remini and Pagan said they will continue to celebrate holidays and family events together, despite their divorce. They also stated that they will be sharing glimpses of their lives as they navigate this new chapter.
