AceShowbiz - Armie Hammer, the disgraced actor once known for his role in "The Social Network", has shared an update on his life in a video posted on Instagram. The 37-year-old revealed that he has returned to Los Angeles after living in the Cayman Islands for several years. However, his return to California has not been without its challenges.
Hammer announced that he is selling his beloved pickup truck, which he purchased as a Christmas gift in 2017. Despite his sentimental attachment to the vehicle, he stated that he can no longer afford the rising gas prices. "Since being back in LA, I have put about four or five hundred dollars worth of gas in it, and I can't afford it. I can't afford the gas anymore," Hammer said in the video.
The actor explained that his decision to part with his truck was tied to his upcoming 38th birthday, marking a new chapter in his life. "I will be starting my birthday in a new car, in a new apartment, in a new life in Los Angeles," he said.
Hammer's financial struggles come after a series of allegations of sexual misconduct and cannibalism, which led to his ouster from Hollywood. He has since denied all criminal allegations.
Despite his financial setbacks, Hammer expressed gratitude for the experience, stating that it has taught him the importance of humility and self-reliance. "You know what it's taught me is that I don't need [money] because I've never been happier than I've ever been in my entire life," he said in an interview earlier this year.
Hammer also shared that his children are not happy about him selling the truck, but he is trying to focus on the practical benefits of a smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicle.
"Parking is gonna be easier, and gas is gonna be cheaper," he said.
