AceShowbiz - Maren Morris, John Legend, Stevie Wonder and more took part at the Democratic National Convention 2024 on Wednesday night, August 21. Taking place at Chicago's United Center, the event, which had "A Fight for Our Freedoms" theme, saw the stars celebrating Kamala Haris as the Democrat candidate for the 2024 presidential race.

That night, Maren offered the audience a performance of her protest song, "Better Than We Found It". Rocking an all-white outfit, the country music star sang, "When lines of tomorrow are drawn/ Can I live with the side that I chose to be on?/ Will we sit on our hands, do nothing about it?/ Or will we leave this world better than we found it?"

Stevie Wonder followed it up with a powerful performance of one of his hits, "Higher Ground". "This is a moment to tell your children where you were and what you did," the legend declared. "When we stand between history's pain and tomorrows promises we must choose courage complacency."

As for John Legend, the "All of Me" hitmaker hit the stage to perform a song by one of Minnesota's greatest artists, Prince. "The Voice" coach joined forces with Sheila E. to sing "Let's Go Crazy".

He additionally welcomed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who has been named as the party's vice presidential nominee. John also honored the Gopher state, where Walz coached high school football before becoming governor.

John has been public with his endorsement for Kamala. Gushing over the VP, he said in a "CBS Mornings" interview earlier that day, "She also has the right character traits I think to be a great president, which means she cares about people's lives, wants government to work for people and improve their lives."

Also showing support for Kamala are Charli XCX, Barbara Streisand, Jane Fonda, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Kerry Washington among others.
