AceShowbiz - Samantha Cope, 37, has filed for divorce from Joey Lawrence, 48, after two years of marriage. The divorce petition, obtained by PEOPLE, cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Cope submitted the paperwork on August 13 and listed June 7, 2024, as the date of separation.

Cope has requested sole physical custody of their toddler, Dylan, while permitting Lawrence visitation at her discretion. According to the filing, once Dylan is 3 years old, Lawrence "will have the option to take her for 2 nights in her home location if he is not working and can facilitate her visiting."

Cope has also specified that Lawrence "must be available for the full time" that Dylan visits while she is a minor. Dylan "is not to be in the presence of any non-family members while with Joe unless agreed upon by Samantha," the filing states.

Additionally, Cope has requested to block the court's ability to award either side spousal support.

The former couple met while filming Lifetime's "My Husband's Secret Brother" in 2021. They married in May 2022, and Dylan was born in January 2023. Lawrence also has two older daughters, Charleston and Liberty, from his previous marriage to Chandie Yawn-Nelson.

Sources report that Cope posted a cryptic message on Instagram before filing for divorce, suggesting a loss or freedom. She has also shared a series of photos on social media featuring herself and Dylan, without Lawrence.

Cope's divorce filing comes after recent speculation of a split when Lawrence was spotted without a wedding ring on a family vacation. The couple's absence from each other's social media accounts had also raised concerns.
