AceShowbiz - Tyrese Gibson has left fans worried with his latest interview. After the Roman Pearce depicter in the "Fast and Furious" film series broke down in tears on "The Breakfast Club", many online users expressed their concerns toward him.
The 45-year-old became emotional when host Charlamagne Tha God asked how the actor copes with the loss of loved ones. They include his mother, two sisters, "Fast & Furious" co-star Paul Walker, and "Baby Boy" director John Singleton.
"I'm doing the best I can with every 24 hours I get," the R&B crooner told Charlamagne in the August, 20 episode of the radio show. As tears started falling down his face, he continued, "I don't need no tissue. Black men cry."
"When divorce has happened, women aren't the only one that are devastated. When a miscarriage happens, women are not the only ones that you should be checking on," he added. "When you can't put food on the table because your career goes up and it goes down, stop calling and skipping over the man and just checking on the woman."
Tyrese has been through a lot in these past years. His mom Priscilla Murray Gibson died in 2022 from COVID-19 and pneumonia, and his two sisters, Salendra and Shonta Gibson, passed away in 2021 and 2023.
In addition, Tyrese has two divorces and ongoing custody battles. He was married to Norma Mitchell from 2007 to 2009 and shares a 17-year-old daughter, Shayla, with her. He then wed Samantha Gibson, but they split in 2020 after four years. The exes have a 6-year-old daughter, Soraya.
"This is some real s**t out here. I'mma wipe my own tears," Tyrese lamented. "When you do things from the heart, it affects hearts."
Many have since reacted to the emotional interview. One person wrote, "The man was really crying for help and ya'll turned him into a meme." Another Instagram user admitted, "I wish I cried more often."
"I know people make fun of him but vulnerability is a sign of strength," a third opined. "One thing you know is that he's gonna tell you how he really feels and no one has to wonder."
