AceShowbiz - Elizabeth Banks, the "Pitch Perfect" star, shares her beauty and aging philosophy at the premiere of her new film, "Skincare". At 50, she acknowledges that her skin is still in good shape, but she also recognizes that it could change in the future.
"I'm aging naturally so far," Banks says. "I'm in a constant dialogue with myself about how I want to be and what makes me feel good about myself." She emphasizes the importance of giving herself "grace" when it comes to aging and "going in whatever direction I end up going in."
Banks shares her beauty advice, which includes getting enough sleep, drinking plenty of water, and prioritizing mental self-love. "Figure out how to mentally love yourself, no matter what," she says. "I know how hard that can be for a lot of people. Try and tell yourself you're gorgeous no matter what."
She also stresses the role of hydration in skincare. "Skin loves moisture! Give it a lot of moisture," she says. "That's the other thing I would say."
Banks has previously spoken about the connection between self-esteem and beauty, crediting it for her decision to avoid Botox. "I'm an all natural beauty. Nothing's ever gone in here, you can tell," she has said. "And that's because my self-esteem is really high."
She believes that "so much of [skincare] is what's inside as much as the outside." When her mental health deteriorates, she finds it difficult to maintain her healthy habits. "I want to age, trust me," she says. "Aging is a privilege. It's better than the alternative, right?"
