AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle is seemingly following in her husband Prince Harry's footsteps. If a new report is to be believed, the Duchess of Sussex is working on an explosive tell-all book in which she will detail her feud with the British royal family.
"There's so much demand for Meghan to speak out, whether that's in the form of another sit-down interview or even her own memoir," a source claimed to Closer. "She has the potential to make an absolute fortune and clear up a lot of questions."
It was said that Meghan's desire to release her own memoir was fueled by the recent snub from the palace as she, Harry and their children were not invited to the Royal Family's annual summer gathering at Balmoral. "It doesn't exactly shock Harry and Meghan that they're not invited considering they're not even on speaking terms at this point, but it feels very much like a personal attack designed to hurt and embarrass them," the source said.
It added, "It's not just about pride or hurt feelings, there are very ugly repercussions for them when this constant narrative that they're family outcasts keeps getting fed. It impacts their brand as well as their morale, and it has the potential to put them more at risk."
The insider added, "They're now being forced to figure out a strategy to fight back, and one option on the table is to go all-out with a big tell-all from Meghan where she completely lays out her side of the story."
Meanwhile, fans have been anticipating Meghan's next step as the release date for her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard has been pushed back. The former "Suits" actress teased her brand in March. Her celebrity friends, including Kris Jenner and Chrissy Teigen, also took to their respective Instagram accounts to promote the brand's jam throughout the summer.
Branding expert Norah Lawlor opined, "From a strategic and branding perspective, if you suggest you are going to launch something but then four months later nothing has happened, the world moves on."
"Fortunately for them, there has been so much going on in the world in the last four months that they could probably relaunch it and no one would really notice," Lawlor added. "The bigger question is whether they have a real team on it, and whether that team has been able to negotiate the retail channel partnerships to get this into stores."
According to the informant, there was "literally no point in Meghan doing anything" until Netflix begins promoting her cooking show. "Everyone has to abide by Netflix's schedule these days. They are by far the biggest player in town," the source continued.
