AceShowbiz - Rob Schneider appeared unfazed by Elle King's shocking claim about their family life. The former "Saturday Night Live" star went on a shopping spree after his daughter opened up about her "toxic" childhood.
The 60-year-old actor/comedian has stepped out for the first time since his 35-year-old daughter's bombshell revelation. In a series of pictures that made their rounds online on Monday, August 12, it could be seen that he was shopping in Los Angeles, California.
One of the photos captured Rob carrying a white shopping bag while treating himself to a cup of overpriced green smoothie from Erewhon. He was sipping the drink as he looked away from the camera. Another snap saw him walking next to an unidentified man and having a nice conversation.
For the shopping spree, Rob sported a long-sleeved black-and-gray checkered shirt, dark gray suit and a pair of long matching denim pants. He completed the look with a pair of black leather shoes and matching shades. In addition, his short hair was covered with a black hat.
The new sighting came after Elle publicly discussed her "toxic" childhood. In a candid teaser for an upcoming episode of Bunnie XO's "Dumb Blonde" podcast, Elle talked about the complexities of her relationship with her father Rob, detailing years of estrangement and emotional distance.
Speaking to the host, Elle said, "I got four or five years without talking to my dad," noting that reconnection remained out of reach until she "was much, much older." The songstress, who grew up primarily under her model mother London King and stepfather's care in Ohio, recalled, "If I would ever spend a summer with my dad it would be on a movie set. I would just get lost in the shuffle."
During the chat, the Grammy-nominated singer also shared her painful memories of being sent by Rob to what she described as a "fat camp." She recounted, "I was, like, a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to fat camp. And then I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and I didn't lose any weight. Very toxic and very silly."
