The former host of 'The Real' pays tribute to her mother, Frances, who passed away peacefully, and shares memories of her upbringing in Detroit's Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects.

AceShowbiz - Loni Love is grieving the loss of her beloved mother, Frances. The former host of "The Real" announced her mother's passing in a heartfelt Instagram post on August 8.

"Momma Love passed peacefully yesterday... She lived life by her own rules, which is what made me live my life the same way," Love wrote, accompanied by a photo of her kissing her mother's cheek.

Going through her mother's belongings brought Love "so much peace," as it allowed her to witness the life Frances had created for herself. "I celebrate her life and will remember the good times forever!!!" she continued.

Love's celebrity friends extended their condolences in the comment section, including Kelly Rowland, Eboni K. Williams and Karen Derrico.

In a previous episode of "The Real," Love shared an emotional tribute to her mother on Mother's Day, recalling her humble beginnings in Detroit's Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects. "I was born in the Brewster projects to a single mother. We never had much money, but she did the best that she could," Love said through tears.

Despite the hardships, her mother instilled in Love a love for reading by joining her in a book club. "This book right here taught me how to read," Love said, holding up a copy of Dr. Seuss's "Oh, the Places You'll Go."

"I just want to thank her and Dr. Seuss," Love concluded. At this difficult time, Love and her family request prayers and privacy as they grieve.
