AceShowbiz - Ten years ago, Hoda Kotb, now 59, appeared in two episodes of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", but she had hoped to play a different role. As she revealed to Jenna Bush Hager on "Today", Kotb wanted to portray a character who died, but her request was denied.
Despite this disappointment, Kotb still enjoyed her experience on the show, playing a TV anchor in the episode "Producer's Backend". She recalled interviewing a suspect, though she couldn't fully remember the plot.
Kotb's acting career began in 2009 with an episode of "Lipstick Jungle," and she has since appeared in various films and television shows, often playing herself. Her resume includes "Sharknado", "30 Rock", "Nashville", "Girlfriends Guide to Divorce", "The Other Two", "Girls5Eva" and "Younger".
In 2022, she appeared alongside fellow "Today" anchor Savannah Guthrie on "Curb Your Enthusiasm", and she had a brief role in Jennifer Lopez's romantic comedy "Marry Me".
While Kotb is known for her high-profile role on "Today", her acting credits reveal a lesser-known side to her career. Her extensive experience in front of the camera demonstrates her versatility and her love for storytelling.
Currently, Kotb is looking forward to Jenna Bush Hager's acting debut in the upcoming Hallmark Channel Christmas movie "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story".
