AceShowbiz - DDG isn't taking advice from strangers about how to raise his son. The YouTuber has fired back at parenting police who called him out for getting his child Halo, whom he shares with Halle Bailey, a line up at six months old.
On Wednesday, July 10, the 26-year-old took to social media to respond to the backlash. "People got something got to say because I got my son a line up at six months. Listen y'all, y'all worry 'bout your own kids," he said in a video as baby Halo was heard cooing. "He came out of my balls. not yours. Worry about your own baby. Worry about your daddy. Why your daddy couldn't afford you a haircut? Let me be a happy dad."
The Pontiac native went on suggesting that black people are the main demographic speaking against him. He claimed that black people are "so used to black men being unpresent fathers" that seeing a "present father" inspires "bad" commentary.
"Why we gotta bite each other? Why y'all always gotta say negative things about your own race? Instead, you should've just said the lining is crispy, cause it is, I know," the "Moonwalking in Calabasas" spitter said, proceeding to show Halo in his stroller.
DDG went on to tease his viewers that he was going to teach Halo "how to drive."
DDG came under fire after documenting his son's first line-up. A video that went viral showed the rapper holding the infant's head between both his hands to keep him steady as the barber began the haircut.
As soon as the clippers touched Halo's head, he cried. After he was given a bottle, Halo stopped crying and remained still for the shape-up. Upon seeing the result, the father of one couldn't be more proud.
Social media users were quick to criticize this decision mostly because of how bad this could be for Halo's hair in the future. "This is how you ruin your kids hairline for life btw...," one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Another penned on Instagram, "Praying for the baby hairline and folicles !!"
Someone else pointed out that the process put Halo at risk, saying, "Dumbest thing to do , as a barber the babies head is still soft and light weight forming , it’s about safety , technically not suppose to get a line up until 2 years of age."
Prior to this, DDG lashed out at social media users making negative remarks about his son's appearance after he and Halle showed Halo's face for the first time. "I seen a few poor, broke, dirty fat, back b***hes, on Instagram talking about my son and it just - it just makes me so angry and mad," he said.
"But then I have to realize that my son is richer than them and he has a more successful life," he continued. "He's in Italy at 6 months, he's been across the world already and only been living for 6 months; and they're broke, poor, can barely eat, probably on welfare and they're grown probably living with their momma."
