AceShowbiz - DDG literally went big to spoil his mother this holiday season. The YouTube star has revealed in a new video posted on his channel that he surprised his mother with his Los Angeles mansion for Christmas.
In the new vlog uploaded on Thursday, December 26, DDG just finished packing up in his old mansion before he handed out gifts for his loved ones. After giving out a pair of brand news iPhones, he brought a box for his mom.
His mother was less than thrilled when she opened the box and saw a pair of shoes that were too big for her inside. DDG told his mother to shake the shoes and she founded a key inside one of the shoes. Her jaw dropped in surprise before she hesitantly asked, "This the new crib?"
"No," DDG said ambigously, "You have it." She asked again for confirmation, "The new crib?" before the rapper clarified, "This one." His mom couldn't hide her joy, putting her hand on her mouth before asking in disbelief, "Really?" She was smiling from ear to ear and gave her son a hug.
While DDG's mother and others in the video were moved by his sweet gesture, some social media users were not impressed and said that he should've given his mom the new house. "Is he gon still live in the house and let her come visit it like what he did with his son?" one of the critics asked.
A second person pointed out, "The same way he brought his son a car Ms.Maam check the dead ya son be cappin," making a reference to a red Ferrari that DDG recently gifted his son Halo. A third critic claimed, "He just putting everything in everyone’s name so no shorty can take anything from him. Dude is actually smart."
Others, however, quickly came to DDG's defense, with one arguing, "That's sweet because he could've easily sold his mansion when buying the new one. He's definitely very thoughtful no matter what ppl say."
Another agreed as adding, "I don't see the problem, how many of us can actually do this? Why be mad bc he did! That's his and his mom's business..." Someone else clapped back at the naysayers, "Shiddd people who saying he didn't do right lost their mind.. He gave her a house .. He did not sell it to her .. He a real one."
DDG previously was also slammed after revealing the lavish gift that he bought for his son, a brand new Ferrari. Soulja Boy was among the critics, saying that the 27-year-old should've bought the 1-year-old boy a toy car instead.
Clapping back at the critics, DDG wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, "n***a mad cuz they son playin hot wheels and mines playin wit ferrari's & M's. Just work harder gang." However, seemingly proving the critics were right, the rapper was later seen taking a drive in Halo's new Ferrari.
