AceShowbiz - Angela Simmons has found a supporter in Keke Palmer after she came under fire over her Oreo bathtub post. The actress has jumped to the reality TV star's defense after people left "vicious" comments on Angela's Instagram post that saw her bathing in Oreos.
Being taken aback by the hateful remarks in the comments section, the "Nope" star wrote, "The way these people are hating in your comments is something VICIOUS! I'm so blown back. Just know you doing EVERYTHING RIGHT. I have never seen people so pressed. Whew." In a separate comment, she left a supportive message regarding the post, exclaiming, "So awesome girl!!!!!"
Keke also took time to respond to one negative comment that read, "You be doing some simple s**t!" The actress wrote back, "and??????? What's yall problem FORREAL!!! Let her be simple then???!?"
Angela appreciated Keke's support. To one of the "Scream Queens" alum's comment, the TV personality replied, "thanks for always being so supportive to me !!! You are the best."
Angela caught heat after she posted a video to help promote Slutty Vegan in Atlanta. The sexy ad featured her bathing in a tub full of Oreos while indulging in fried Oreos.
"Fried Oreos anyone ?" she wrote in the caption. "Soooooo excited for my official launch with @sluttyveganatl !!! Our @eatangelascakes Fried Oreos will be available at all Slutty Vegan locations beginning Friday, July 12th !! #AngelasCakes #SluttyVegan #VeganFriedOreos."
The marketing tactic quickly got some people riled up, with many taking issue with the Oreos that were probably wasted following the filming. "Wasting all them damn cookies," one wrote in the comments. Another echoed the sentiment, "So you wasted all them oreos."
A third blasted the daughter of Run DMC's Rev. Run, "Corny af," while a fourth labeled her "The queen of cringe." Someone else threatened, "I'm bouta unfollow u smh."
However, Keke wasn't the only one defending Angela against the criticism. "Yall act like yall paid for the oreos or something If you don't like what you see, keep moving but to talk negative and still follow her is crazy work. Keep going Ma," a follower clapped back at the critics.
Another fan penned, "To those of you commenting negatively about her and her marketing, trust me she’s not trying to appeal to you all in any way. The people who she’s trying to reach will get it and more importantly they will actually make a PURCHASE! Everything isn’t for everybody, that’s why we have options! Keep scrolling bullies!"
Angela recently also landed in hot water for bringing a gun-shaped purse to the 2024 BET Awards. The 36-year-old has since apologized for her controversial accessory, saying in a statement, "When I chose the purse, I believed it was cute and unique, and I made a poor decision in using it as an accessory to amplify my beauty. I deeply regret that this item, which symbolizes a gun, was inappropriate and insensitive, especially given my personal and community experiences with gun violence."
