Her dedication to the building is evident from her social media presence, where she shared her fondness for the place in an Instagram post, stating, "I take selling and buying this building very seriously. It's been my home for three decades and the haunt of the most powerful humans in New York from Teddy Roosevelt to Calvin Klein."

Bensimon's love for the iconic building goes beyond just living there; she also thrives as a premier broker and real estate agent associated with the landmark. A June article from the luxury real estate blog Elliman Insider highlighted her long association with the building, mentioning that Bensimon has lived there for over 30 years, transitioning from a model and student to a magazine editor, author, mother and television personality.

The decision to call off her wedding came on June 25, only a few days before the planned ceremony, which was supposed to take place in Boston. Explaining her choice to PEOPLE, Bensimon emphasized, "Ultimately, my decision is nobody's business, but I understand that there is speculation and gossip, and I want to put an end to all of it. To be clear, he refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, and I refused to marry him. Full stop."

Since the cancellation, Bensimon has shifted her focus back to her family and career. She spent what would have been her wedding weekend with her loved ones in the Hamptons, sharing photos with the caption, "Family first."
