Joy-Anna Duggar has revealed a terrifying incident involving her 13-month-old son, Gunner, who had a scary choking experience that left the family shaken.

During the meal, Gunner bit off more than he could chew, leading to a harrowing choking episode. "I just handed Gunner to Austin and I started crying. All those what-ifs come to your mind right away," Joy-Anna recalled. Gunner's choking persisted, with him gagging and being unable to breathe for about 20 seconds.
With Austin being an EMT, the couple decided to drive an hour to the nearest hospital. The journey was fraught with panic as Gunner stopped breathing multiple times. "I was just crying out to God, 'Please save him,' " Joy-Anna shared, reflecting on the fear of possibly losing her child.
Fortunately, Gunner's condition improved during the car ride. By the time they reached the hospital, he was breathing normally. Doctors conducted X-rays to ensure that Gunner's airway was clear before discharging him.
Joy-Anna expressed immense relief and gratitude, stating, "I was just so thankful that God protected him, and we made it to the hospital and that whatever was in his throat wasn't bothering him anymore."
Reflecting on the incident, Joy-Anna emphasized the importance of treasuring each moment with loved ones. She advised parents to "hug your babies a little bit tighter and thank God for giving us life and breath. You never know when something is going to happen."
