AceShowbiz - Music journalist Sowmya Krishnamurthy has come under fire over her claims about Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. After she claimed she never saw the rapper assaulting his ex Cassie during her internship at Bad Boy Records, many social media users were quick to drag her down.
"My first hip-hop internship was at Bad Boy Records. I briefly worked in Diddy's office when he dated Cassie. It was my dream job. I never saw or experienced abuse. But that's my story," Sowmya penned on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday, May 29. "It's important we don't get blinded by biases or fandom and let victims share their story."
The post didn't sit well with many social media users. "There was no reason to tweet this, Sowmya," one person penned, while another argued, "Why would you share this? Girl gone move around."
A third questioned, "Internship. So, you worked how many days a week? For limited hours in a day. You didn't need to chime in. Respectfully." Someone else added, "You could have absolutely not posted this as well. This feels like a desperate claw to be part of a culture that fails to recognize you time and again."
Diddy has been under fire since a video of him abusing his ex Cassie leaked. The footage showed the spitter brutally attacking the songstress at InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles back in March 2016.
Later on, Diddy issued an apology. In a 70-second video that he posted on Instagram, he stated, "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that." He further said, "My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now."
"I went out and sought professional help. Had to go into therapy, into rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry," the hip-hop artist/producer continued. "But I'm committed to being a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."
