A Cannes Film Festival usher has once again been caught on video reprimanding a celebrity, this time Dominican actress Massiel Taveras, echoing a similar incident with Kelly Rowland earlier this week.

AceShowbiz - In a display of glitz, glamour, and unexpected tensions, this year's Cannes Film Festival saw not one but two confrontations between red carpet stars and a now-infamous security guard. Just a few days after a row with Kelly Rowland, the female usher clashed with Dominican actress Massiel Taveras, sparking heated discussions on social media.

The drama began earlier in the week when Kelly Rowland encountered the female security officer while ascending the iconic Cannes steps. Rowland felt rushed and visibly upset by the usher's insistence on moving her along.

"The woman knows what happened, I know what happened," Rowland told the AP at the amfAR Cannes Gala on Thursday. "I have a boundary and I stand by those boundaries, and that is it. And there were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me, and they didn't get that scolding, or pushed off, or told to get off. I stood my ground, and she felt like she had to stand hers. But I stood my ground."

Fast forward a couple of days, a similar scene unfolded with Massiel Taveras, who made a stunning entrance in a white dress emblazoned with a hand-painted image of Jesus Christ. Taveras also felt obstructed by the same usher as she tried to display her gown's intricate artwork.

The security guard blocked Taveras and hastened her up the stairs, much to her visible frustration. At the top of the stairs, the situation escalated when the usher made physical contact with Taveras, prompting her to push the security guard away.

The video capturing both incidents went viral, prompting widespread debate. While they haven't addressed the situation with Massiel Taveras, the Cannes officials and the usher involved have stood by their actions regarding the incident with Kelly Rowland, emphasizing the need to maintain the flow and safety on the red carpet.

"She was an usher working under a lot of pressure to keep people on the carpet moving, so as to stop crowds building up. There was no pushing or shoving, or scolding," a colleague of the usher told the Daily Mail newspaper. "Security and safety are the priorities, along with keeping to strict timetables set according to contracts – even the celebrities have to stick to the rules."

Following the red carpet altercation, Massiel Taveras managed to showcase her dress properly inside the building. She expressed her gratitude and pride in making history at the prestigious festival.

On Instagram, she shared, "This is the first time in 77 years of the great Cannes festival that Jesus is exhibited on this stage and it is the first time that a work of art by Dominicanos is published and valued by the legendary magazine #vanityfairitalia #vanityfairitaly EL CRISTO ‘is the most shocking love story of all time and today made history once again, come to see this."

Taveras also showed support for Kelly Rowland, posting the singer's picture from the event and called her "queen" with added love emojis in the caption.

As the Cannes Film Festival continues to be a battleground of not just cinematic excellence but also contentious red carpet moments, one can only hope that future events will find a balance between glamour, safety, and respect for all attendees.
