The Dominican actress stresses the need for people to 'respect' them after she was seen being rushed up the red steps by the same staffer who was scolded by the former Destiny's Child member at the film festival.

AceShowbiz - Massiel Taveras couldn't agree more with Kelly Rowland after both of them had similar experiences at the Cannes Film Festival. The Dominican actress has hailed the American singer/actress "queen" after shoving the same security guard who was confronted by Kelly at the festival earlier in the week.

On Saturday, May 25, the 39-year-old took to her Instagram Story to repost articles regarding Kelly's response to the incident. "Queen," the former Miss Dominican Republic contestant wrote over one of her Stories. She added on another Story, "[We need] respect."

Massiel's Stories came after she had a heated encounter with a female security guard at Cannes. The TV host/designer was desperately navigating her gown's 15-foot train while trying to ascend the stairs at Palais des Festivals when the security guard rushed her up. Not having it, Massiel seemed to tell the security to back off.

After she unfurled the train to show the image of Jesus Christ on it, Massiel posed for photos one last time before she took a few steps up. At the top of the steps, she was shoving off the female security guard who continued to touch her and block her view with her arm.

Previously, Kelly had a confrontation with the same staffer when attending the premiere of French-Italian film "Marcello Mio" on May 21. Defending her action, the former Destiny's Child member said at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala at Cannes, "The woman knows what happened. I know what happened. And, I have a boundary. And I stand by those boundaries and that is it."

"There were other women who attended that carpet, who did not quite look like me, and they didn't get scolded or pushed off or told to get off," she added, insinuating that racism played a part in the way she was treated at the festival. "And, I stood my ground and she felt like she had to stand hers. But I stood my ground."

It has since been revealed that the female security guard also rushed up South Korean singer/actress Yoona on the red carpet at the festival.
