Universal's new installment of the fantasy film series is set to roar into theaters with an electrifying new cast, including the 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' and 'Asteroid City' actor.

AceShowbiz - British actor Rupert Friend has joined the cast of Universal's "Jurassic World 4", alongside Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. Gareth Edwards is directing the film, with a script penned by David Koepp, who wrote the original "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World: Jurassic Park".

Friend's role in the film remains undisclosed, but he has recently gained prominence as the Grand Inquisitor in Disney+'s "Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi" and as a regular in Wes Anderson's films, including "The French Dispatch" and "Asteroid City".

The upcoming installment of the "Jurassic" franchise marks a new era for the series, with no expected returns from Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard or the original "Jurassic Park" trio of Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. Production is set to commence in mid-June in London, with a theatrical release date of July 2, 2025.

Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will produce the film under Kennedy-Marshall Productions, with executive producer Steven Spielberg overseeing the project through Amblin Entertainment. Universal has expedited the production schedule to meet the announced release date.
