AceShowbiz - Toni Braxton is not married to Birdman. The "Un-Break My Heart" songstress finally addressed rumors about her getting hitched with the rapper, declaring that they're both single.
The 56-year-old set the record straight via Instagram on Sunday, December 31. "My dear friend [Birdman] and I are not married...never been married. We are both single," she penned in the post.
Toni's clarification arrived nearly two months after Media Take Out reported that she and Birdman got married over the summer in a private ceremony in Mexico. The couple's big day was allegedly attended by close family and friends, who were reportedly told to keep quiet about the marriage.
A source close to Birdman revealed to the outlet, "Birdman is very private - he doesn't want his business out on social media or on some reality shows." The source added, "[Birdman] wanted to get married and he decided that she was the woman for him, so they did it."
Toni and Birdman began dating in May 2016. Two years later, the lovebirds announced their engagement. They split in early 2019, only to reconcile within weeks.
In April 2020, Toni assured that she and the Cash Money Records co-founder would "definitely" get married within the year. "We've been trying to figure it out, but we are definitely gonna do it this year," she said on "Rick and Sasha Morning Show" about their wedding planning amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"We have been going back and forth on wedding dates. We had a great date but then it was getting too big, we didn't want a big wedding," she went on sharing. "Then we said, 'OK, we don't want it too small.' Then he said, 'OK, let's do the drive through.' I'm like, 'We are not doing a drive through. I'm not ordering fries after we get married, babe.' "
