In a joint Instagram post on Monday, April 15, the couple shared, "There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss. After a beautiful and peaceful delivery, our daughter 'Indy' was born at rest. It has been a painful journey. But in pain, we have found peace."
The couple described their grief as "coming to us in waves," with moments of "feeling absolutely gutted" and moments of "feeling blessed." They acknowledged the unwavering support of their faith and the outpouring of prayers from their community.
"This little girl has already changed our lives in so many ways," they wrote. "She was absolutely beautiful and looked just like daddy, dark hair and all."
Indy was the second daughter for Alexa and Carlos, the couple also shares three children: sons Ocean, 7, and Kingston, 4, and daughter Rio, 2.
The couple had announced their pregnancy in November, expressing their excitement and gratitude. However, Alexa had previously shared that the pregnancy had been challenging, requiring a five-day hospital stay due to bleeding.
