After the passing of the 57-year-old hip-hop icon was confirmed by Hot 97, a number of famous figures, including 50 Cent and DJ Premier, pay homage to the late artist.

Born Calvin LeBrun in Brooklyn, Mister Cee was renowned as the official DJ for Big Daddy Kane and is widely known for discovering The Notorious B.I.G.. He also played a pivotal role as an executive producer on B.I.G.'s iconic 1994 debut album, "Ready to Die."

Numerous tributes have poured in from the hip-hop community. Mister Cee's influence extended beyond his DJ sets, as he helped elevate the careers of local artists, including 50 Cent, who expressed his condolences on social media. "R.I.P. to the legend MR. Cee God bless him, to all his family and friends I send my condolences," 50 Cent wrote.

Public Enemy frontman Chuck D added, "Rest In Beats my man. A good dude to the fullest. @djmistercee."

Mister Cee had a 21-year tenure at Hot 97, where he helmed his storied "Throwback at Noon" segment. He also spent time at 94.7 The Block and was featured on SiriusXM's "Rock The Bells" show. He was affiliated with the New York City DJ consortium The Flip Squad and the hip-hop group The Juice Crew.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Mister Cee had a well-documented history of legal troubles involving lewd conduct. He addressed his sexuality in an interview on the podcast "Kitchen Talk," stating that he was "try-sexual" and open to experimenting with different experiences.
