The Johnson County Sheriff's Office states that no indication of foul play is found in the death of Mo Brings Plenty's nephew, but they acknowledge there is problem in police's relationship with the American Native community.

AceShowbiz - No foul play is suspected in the death of Cole Brings Plenty. Police have given an update on the investigation into the death of the "1923" actor, who was the nephew of "Yellowstone" star Mo Brings Plenty, after he was found dead last week.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office issued a statement on Wednesday, April 10, which read, "Detectives, crime scene investigators, and the Medical Examiner's Office have been working diligently with the Lawrence Police Department and the Brings Plenty family. There is no indication of foul play in the death of Cole Brings Plenty."

In a follow-up statement, Lawrence Kansas Police Chief Rich Lockhart added, "This is a tragic case for everyone involved. Your Police Department worked very hard to investigate the incidents and worked very hard to find Cole. None of us could have imagined this outcome."

"I learned through this series of events that our Police Department must work harder to increase trust with our Native American community members. Through meeting with Cole's family members and members of our Native American community, I clearly see that we are not where we need to be in partnering with a community that is very important to Lawrence's history and to its current culture," he acknowledged.

The police chief continued to state, "This sad series of events has been shared around the world. It's my hope that future bridges we build and partnerships we form between our Native American community and our police department will create a relationship that will not only increase trust and understanding, but will also be a model for other communities."

Cole was found dead on Friday, April 5, just days after he was reported missing while he was wanted for alleged domestic violence. His body was discovered in a wooded area after deputies had been notified about an unoccupied vehicle. After checking the vehicle, deputies searched the area and they found Cole's body away from the vehicle.

Following Cole's passing, his uncle Mo shared a statement on Instagram on behalf of Cole's father. "I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole," it read.

The statement continued, "We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas. I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him. During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we process our grief and figure out how we move forward."
