The former Marvel actor manages to dodge jail sentence as he is ordered to complete a one-year domestic violence treatment program after being found guilty of assault.

AceShowbiz - Jonathan Majors has been sentenced to participate in a one-year domestic violence treatment program, following his conviction last year for assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The sentence was handed down on Monday, April 8, in a New York courtroom.

Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment in December 2023. The charges stemmed from an incident in March 2023, where he allegedly assaulted Jabbari in the back of a private vehicle. Majors denied the allegations and did not testify during the trial.

Judge Michael Gaffey imposed the sentence, which includes a permanent order of protection against any contact with Jabbari. Any violation of the sentencing terms could result in Majors being put behind bars for up to 364 days. The judge also ordered Majors to continue therapy.

During the sentencing hearing, Jabbari read out a victim impact statement. She accused Majors of being "above the law" and expressed fear that he would harm other women. Majors remained silent throughout the hearing.

Majors' legal team had filed a motion to set aside the guilty verdict last week, but it was denied. The actor has also been facing a civil lawsuit filed by Jabbari, which includes additional allegations of abuse that were excluded from the criminal trial.

Majors' career has been in decline since his arrest in March 2023. He has been dropped by his management company and publicity firm, and his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been replaced.
