AceShowbiz - Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are preparing to reunite on their Symphony of Dance tour just four months after Erbert underwent brain surgery.
Erbert, 29, announced on Friday, April 5 that she had been cleared to rejoin Hough, 38, on the tour, which begins on April 14 in Melbourne, Florida. "I am so excited to announce I have been cleared to rejoin the Symphony Of Dance tour, and I will be dancing when the tour begins April 14th in Melbourne, Florida," she shared with fans.
In December, Erbert was rushed to the hospital following a tour performance in Washington, D.C., where she was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel. She underwent an emergency craniectomy and later a cranioplasty surgery to replace a portion of her skull.
As a result, Hough postponed the tour to be by Erbert's side during her recovery. "What a blessing (and surprise) it is to be able to be back on stage dancing with my love after such a crazy past four months," Erbert wrote on Instagram.
Hough echoed his wife's excitement, saying, "We cannot wait to dance together again on stage and be back with all of our fans and thank them."
Erbert expressed her gratitude to her medical team for supporting her decision to return to dance. "I am so appreciative of the doctors who have supported me in my decision to dance again and my team of specialists that have been assembled to assure that my health and safety is priority," she said.
The couple has been dancing together on the tour since 2015 when they met on the 20th season of "Dancing With the Stars." They began dating in 2015 and married in August 2023.
The Symphony of Dance tour will resume in Melbourne, Australia on April 14 and will continue through the East Coast and South, ending in San Diego on May 19.
