AceShowbiz - Cara Delevingne couldn't be more grateful that her cats are alive after a potentially deadly fire destroyed her Los Angeles mansion. The "Paper Towns" actress shared the good news through an Instagram Story post.
On Friday, March 15, the 31-year-old beauty uploaded a picture of the two cats. "They are alive!!" she exclaimed in the accompanying message. "Thank you to the firefighters [red heart emoji."
Cara's post arrived just hours after she posted a cryptic message that led fans to assume that cats were missing or had died. "My heart is broken today… I cannot believe it. Life can change in the blink of an eye," she penned alongside an image of her pets. "So cherish what you have."
Firefighters responded to a 911 call made at approximately 3:57 A.M. PST on Friday and found the 8,000-square-foot mansion engulfed in flames. The blaze reportedly originated in a backroom and spread to the attic, causing extensive damage to the expensive property.
A total of 94 firefighters from 13 different engine companies arrived to fight the inferno. It took them nearly two hours to extinguish the fire, during which time one firefighter fell from a ladder while trying to put out the blaze.The firefighter's injuries are not yet known.
Meanwhile, one person who was staying at Cara's home was treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The model was not present at the property at the time of the blaze. She is currently in the U.K., where she is making her West End debut in the play "Cabaret".
Cara purchased the Los Angeles mansion in 2019. The luxurious $7 million property boasts four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and an extensive living space. It was featured in an Architectural Digest spread in 2021.
