The Disney alum, who stepped out of the spotlight in 2019 while pursuing a Harvard law degree and a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, shares the news after announcing she's the CEO of a space startup.

AceShowbiz - Bridgit Mendler feels "so lucky" to be a first-time mom. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Disney alum announced that she adopted a son more than a year ago.

"The other news I wanted to share is I'm a mama to a sweet 4yo boy. Started fostering in 2021 adopted near Christmas of 2022," the 31-year-old penned on Monday, February 19. "I'm so lucky - being a parent is the biggest gift and most defining experience there is. that's my news for now folks."

Earlier that day, Bridgit shocked the world by announcing that she will serve as the CEO of Northwood Space. "Expect the unexpected! So excited to announce our $6.3M seed led by @foundersfund and @a16z with participation from @CapitalAlso, @LongJourneyVC, @BoxGroup, @humbavc."

Meanwhile, when speaking to CNBC, Bridgit said, "The vision is a data highway between Earth and space." The "Hurricane" singer, who stepped out of the spotlight in 2019 while pursuing a Harvard law degree and a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, added, "Space is getting easier along so many different dimensions but still the actual exercise of sending data to and from space is difficult."

According to the outlet, Bridgit's husband, Griffin Cleverly, will serve as the startup's chief technology officer. The couple tied the knot back in October 2019.
