AceShowbiz - Tom Sandoval has regretted his remarks in a newly-published interview. Having come under fire for comparing his cheating scandal to that of George Floyd and O.J. Simpson, the "Vanderpump Rules" star issued a public apology on social media.

"My intentions behind the comments I made in New York Times Magazine were to explain the level of national media attention my affair received," the 40-year-old wrote on Instagram Story on Tuesday, February 20. "The comparison was inappropriate and ignorant. I'm incredibly sorry and embarrassed."

In the interview, Tom was asked why he thought his affair with Raquel Leviss had gotten "so big" in the media. "I'm not a pop-culture historian really," he told the publication, "but I witnessed the O.J. Simpson thing and George Floyd and all these big things, which is really weird to compare this to that, I think, but do you think in a weird way it's a little bit the same?"

The reality TV star also believes that he's caught more flak than incarcerated actor Danny Masterson, who was convicted of raping two women in 2003. "I feel like I got more hate than Danny Masterson, and he's a convicted rapist," he said.

Tom's statements didn't sit well with many people, including several Black Bravo stars like Jordan Emanuel ("Summer House: Martha's Vineyard", "Winter House") and "The Real Housewives of Miami" 's Guerdy Abraira.

"Comparing slinging d**k to a Black man being murdered in front of our eyes during Black History Month is something I just don't have words for," Jordan argued. Guerdy added, "The disrespect... and during Black History Month... WOW just plz." She went on to "PLEASE reflect on this repulsive statement you made (regarding GEORGE FLOYD r.i.p), especially in Black History Month and take it back!! NOT OK! An immediate apology is in order, sir."
