The 'Ocean Eyes' singer voices her 'deepest gratitude' upon learning that the 'Barbie' song, which she wrote with her brother FINNEAS, receives a nod for Best Original Song.

AceShowbiz - Billie Eilish has voiced her "deepest gratitude" after one of her songs got an Oscar nomination. The "Ocean Eyes" singer said that she was "endlessly grateful" upon learning that her song titled "What Was I Made For?", which she created with her brother FINNEAS for the "Barbie" movie, received a nod for Best Original Song.

The 22-year-old songstress shared her and her 26-year-old brother's response to the nomination on her Instagram page. In the caption of her new post, she wrote, "Thank you so much to the members of @theacademy for nominating 'What Was I Made For?' we are endlessly grateful for this honor and to have been a part of @barbiethemoviea," adding a pink bow emoji.

In the post, Billie included her and FINNEAS' statement that read, "We are so incredibly honored to receive a nomination for 'What Was I Made For?' As lifelong fans of film, music in film and the Academy Award, this means everything to us. We are so grateful to the Academy and its members, and to be recognized alongside so many songwriters that we respect and admire."

"Our deepest gratitude and thanks goes out to the incomparable Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach for their genius vision and execution, the entire 'Barbie' cast and crew, Lucky Chap Entertainment and the Warner Bros. Pictures team," they continued. "Thank you to Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt for weaving our song into the fabric and heart of this film so well."

Billie and FINNEAS did not forget to give actress Margot Robbie a credit. The two siblings added, "And a special shout out to Margot Robbie for her incredible foresight as a producer and brilliant performance that resonated with us so profoundly when writing this song. We are truly honored. Thank you."

In the same post, Billie also uploaded a photo of her with Margot. In the snap, the "When the Party's Over" singer could be seen tightly hugging Margot as both of them flashed their radiant smiles and closed their eyes.

Billie released the "What Was I Made For?" song, which appeared in the "Barbie" movie, along with its accompanying music video on July 13, 2023. The track was the first song that she and FINNEAS wrote after a prolonged writer's block.

The movie itself received a total of eight nominations for the 96th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Ryan Gosling and Best Supporting Actress for America Ferrera. However, their co-star Margot and director Greta were snubbed from the nominations.
