'Deadpool 3' will be Disney's only MCU movie in 2024 following the shuffle as Hollywood studios are scrambling to rearrange their release schedules after SAG-AFTRA reached a tentative agreement with AMPTP.

AceShowbiz - Disney has adjusted its release schedule following the end of SAG-AFTRA strike. After months of speculation about how the strike would affect its upcoming projects, the studio has delayed the release of a number of tentpole films, including "Deadpool 3" and "Captain America: Brave New World".

On Thursday evening, November 9, Disney announced that the third "Deadpool" movie has been pushed back from May 3, 2024 to July 26, 2024. The movie still has to complete production which was halted when the strike began in July. Filming is expected to resume before Thanksgiving.

"Deadpool 3" is not the only Disney MCU movie in 2024 as the studio has moved "Captain America 4" from July 26, 2024 ("Deadpool 3" current date) to February 2, 2025. Meanwhile, "Thunderbolts" starring Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan is pushed back from December 20, 2024 to July 25, 2025.

"Blade" starring Mahershala Ali (Mahershala Ali) has been delayed nine months from February 14, 2025 to November 7, 2025. Both "Blade" and "Thunderbolts" were supposed to go into production this summer, but did not have scripts that were ready in time due to the writers' strike that ended on September 27.

Besides those Marvel films, Disney has also shifted the dates for "Mufasa: The Lion King". The prequel to Disney's classic "The Lion King (2019)", directed by Barry Jenkins, has moved from a July 5, 2024 date to December 20, 2024. Disney has also vacated two other dates in 2025, July 25, 2025 and November 7, 2025, for projects that are still kept under wraps.

Disney isn't the only studio racing to rearrange its release schedule following the end of the strike. Hours after the deal was announced, Sony revealed a new date for "Venom 3", November 8, 2024, after it was initially scheduled for a July 12, 2024 release.

SAG-AFTRA announced on Wednesday that it reached a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) that officially ended the strike at 12:01 A.M. on Thursday, November 9. The union said the SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Committee approved the agreement in a unanimous vote.

Celebrating the news, Alec Baldwin wrote on Instagram, "The SAG-AFTRA strike has ended. Congratulations to each and every person, on both sides, who are responsible for this great occasion." Zac Efron said to reporters at the premiere of his new wrestling biopic "The Iron Claw", "Let's go!"

Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds shared a picture of Dogpool, a doggy version of Deadpool, and wrote in the caption, "Did Dogpool save the day? Not a chance in gremlin hell. But she IS currently causing the Disney plushy merch department nightmares. Coming with the movie, Summer 2024."
