AceShowbiz - Gillie Da Kid held a lavish funeral for his son YNG Cheese. Mourners gathered on Monday, July 24 at the Met Philadelphia to bid farewell to the rapper son of the rapper/podcaster following his death on Thursday.
Born Devin Spady, the late star was remembered by family members as "the life of the party." His aunt Shafeqah Tod said, "Devin was a joy. Always the life of the party, always wanting to bring the family together."
Wallo 267, Spady's uncle and Gillie Da King's podcast partner, took to Instagram to speak on behalf of the family. "It's a tragic situation but tomorrow is going to be better than yesterday and we never stop believing that, never. We're never going to abandon the mission God sent us to do," Wallo wrote.
Fellow rappers also showed support to the mourning dad by showing up at the funeral. Among them were Meek Mill, Freeway, Beanie Sigel and Mike Knox. Wallo made use of his Instagram account to share a picture featuring a slew of several prominent rappers and friends standing proudly with Gillie during his time of mourning. "Thank you everyone who came through these few days to show big cuzz love. The hugs, laughs, support means everything! [two heart emoji]," he wrote.
Mike also shared the picture on his page, writing in the caption, "Spent today showing our brother love." Meanwhile, Freeway noted, "S/O to everyone that pulled up today and showed my brother @gilliedaking some LOVE during these tough times." Additionally, Meek stated on Instagram Story that Gillie's son's death "will help bring the city back together."
YNG Cheese passed away after being involved in a triple shooting in Philadelphia on the 5800 block of Mascher Street at 8:24 P.M on Thursday. The police report stated that a 25-year-old man was shot once in the back and taken to the hospital by police. He was pronounced dead at 8:39 P.M.
Wallo confirmed YNG Cheese's death by writing on his Instagram account, "Lil Cuz usually when I talk to you, I got a lot to tell you. Tonight the pain in my heart & tears spoke to you. I love you beyond life Cheese. I got your father, Rest well!" He also added multiple broken heart emojis.
