Taking a cue from Taron Egerton who earlier announced his break from social media, the 'Gray Man' actor reposts the 'Rocketman' star's statement before deleting his own accounts.

AceShowbiz - Chris Evans also needs a break from social media. Following Taron Egerton's lead, the original Captain America depicter in Marvel Cinematic Universe has deactivated his Twitter and Instagram accounts to enjoy summer "with less screen time."

Just before the Fourth of July holiday weekend, PEOPLE's 2022 Sexiest Man Alive was inspired by the Welsh actor to ditch social media. "Hey, everyone. I'm treating myself to a summer with less screen time, so I'm taking a little break from Twitter and IG," he wrote on Twitter on Thursday, June 29, per screenshot shared on social media. "See you soon! Much love!"

Chris Evans announced his break from social media.

Over on Instagram, he reposted Taron's message on his Story and added over it, "Couldn't have said it better myself!!! Count me in. Gonna take a little break. Much love to everyone!" He has since deleted his own accounts on both platforms.

The 'Avengers' star is taking a cue from Taron Egerton to deactivate his own accounts.

Chris is following the footsteps of Taron, who announced earlier on Thursday that he is distancing himself from his Instagram account because he is finding the app increasingly "addictive." The "Rocketman" star wrote, "I'm going to take a break from social media for a while. I'm not sure why I'm making a big declaration about it; I just think it's hard to break away from a cycle that I've grown to find a bit addictive and this is me making a commitment to myself."

The 33-year-old went on explaining his move, "I've gotten myself into a place where I spent too much time scrolling and I actually feel like my ability to sit and be present and read books and watch movies and even seek out the company of people I love is eroding as a result."

"I feel a bit removed from myself. And with regards to work, I know I am capable of more and IG is one of several impediments to getting me there," he continued in his lengthy statement, before concluding, "Thanks everyone for saying such nice things all the time; I so appreciate it but I just need to not read the thoughts of strangers for a while; I'm not really sure this stuff is very good for any of us."

Unlike Chris who has deactivated his social media accounts, Taron's Instagram account is still active. He, however, has indicated that his social media break will last throughout 2023, and urged his fans to also take a break from their phones now and again. He wrote in the caption, "Have a great rest of your year everyone. And if you're anything like me remember to leave your f**king phone in the other room a bit more often."
