The British actor, who stars opposite Jamie in 'They Cloned Tyrone', says at the film's premiere that he has been trying to call his co-star, but the 55-year-old isn't picking up just yet.

AceShowbiz - John Boyega has not been able to personally reach out to Jamie Foxx since the latter's hospitalization back in April. Having worked with the Oscar winner in "They Cloned Tyrone" which will be released on Netflix on July 21, the British actor revealed he has been calling his co-star to no avail.

"I've been calling, I'm just gonna keep on calling," the Finn depicter in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy said at the premiere of their upcoming movie at the American Black Film Festival in Miami Beach on Wednesday, June 14. He added, "He better pick up. Come on Jamie!"

The British actor admitted to missing Jamie on the red carpet. He told Entertainment Tonight, "I wanted him to show up here but you know, I know he's dealing with what he's dealing with, and we just wish him all the best."

Another cast member, Teyonah Parris, recalled shooting the movie with the 55-year-old actor. "We had so much fun and he's just such a lively person and he brings such an energy to the set," she shared at the premiere. "We would never work, we all just had fun laughing and partying."

"I wish Jamie all the recovery and healing. He's just so amazing," she added. "It was just such an honor to work with him. He's so generous as an actor and as a human, along with John. I got lucky to be able to work with such dope men on this project, and dope men of color, that it was just so much fun."

Jamie was hospitalized in Atlanta, where he was filming "Back in Action", on April 11. Amid conflicting reports about his condition, his daughter Corinne Foxx said on May 12 that her father had been "out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating."

It's reported that Jamie has been treated in a "physical rehab facility in Chicago" that specializes in "strokes and brain injuries." Recently, his rep denied speculation that the actor suffered a serious reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine, branding the story "completely inaccurate."
