AceShowbiz - Kelis has found a new man. More than a year after the passing of her husband Mike Mora, the "Milkshake" singer is reportedly dating Bill Murray.
Revealing the news was The U.S. Sun. According to the outlet, the 72-year-old watched the singer perform at the Mighty Hoopla festival in London last weekend. The actor was also spotted in Kelis' other recent shows.
Sources close to the alleged couple told the publication that they were also seen together at the same hotel and have been "getting close for a while" after first meeting in the U.S. A friend, meanwhile, shared, "They've met up in the States before which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they're both here. They've clearly hit it off."
"They were both seen at the same hotel, and he's been to watch her perform several times before he went to Mighty Hoopla," the friend further elaborated. "But they've also both shared relatively recent bereavements and have that common bond between them... Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap."
Kelis' new romance with Murray arrived after her husband Mora lost his battle with stomach cancer at the age of 37 in March 2022. Announcing his death was actor/singer Evan Ross, who wrote on Instagram, "We lost a brother Yesterday. We will truly miss you Mike. Thinking of some of the great times we all spent together. You and @naztokio recording me at @dallasaustins studio in atlanta."
When reflecting on Mora's death, Kelis told PEOPLE, "It wasn't something that was sudden. We were able to prepare, and love, and say goodbye. We were able to spend the time that we needed to, as much as we were given, the best way that we could." She added, "Is it a great situation? No, it's freaking awful, but I am grateful."
"It was out of our hands from the beginning. We're just grateful for what we had," the musician, who wed Mora in 2014, added. "It's part of life. It doesn't change the fact that I'm heartbroken… but it does change how I choose to approach it."
