AceShowbiz - Kevin Federline apparently has some financial obligation to fulfill before he and his family leave for another state. The ex-husband of Britney Spears has been sued by a private Christian school in California for alleged nonpayment of fees for two of his children's schooling.
The West Valley Christian School, where Kevin and his wife Victoria Prince send their two daughters Jordan and Peyton, is suing the couple for allegedly owing more than $15,000 in tuition. The school claims they have an outstanding balance of $15,593 for their daughters' schooling.
In a lawsuit filed in the Superior Court of California in the County of Los Angeles on May 9, the West Valley Christian school alleges that the couple owes almost $16,000 and has not made any tuition payments since on or about May 16, 2019. They accuse both Kevin and his wife of breach of contract they signed on August 1, 2018 "by failing to pay for services which had been provided on credit at their special instance and request."
According to the documents, the educational facility previously demanded the money, but Kevin and Victoria allegedly "failed and refused and continue to fail and refuse to pay all or any part of the remaining balance due."
The school is now not only asking for the principal sum of $15,593.00 but also for the interest rate of 10.0000 percent per annum from on and after May 16, 2019. It is also suing for attorney's fees, the cost of bringing the lawsuit, and any "further relief as this Court may deem just and proper."
Kevin is a father of six. He also shares daughter Kori, 20, and son Kaleb, 18, with ex-fiancee Shar Jackson, and sons Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, with Britney. He's recently reported to be planning to move his family to Hawaii.
Kevin recently gave Britney a deadline to respond to his request for a permission to relocate their sons from California. In her response, via her attorney Mathew Rosengart, the pop star "consents" to the DJ's plans to move their sons to Hawaii.
In a letter fired off to Kevin's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan on Wednesday, May 31, Mathew notes that the former couple's eldest son Sean "will no longer be a minor" when he turns 18 in September, while their younger son Jayden is also "nearing the age of maturity."
"To her credit, Britney Spears will not interfere with and consents to the relocation," he writes in the letter obtained by Page Six. He also slams Kevin for making it public and creating "unnecessary drama."
Mathew says he "did not anticipate a dispute" when Mark first contacted him about the move in April, sharing that he urged his counterpart at the time to keep the matter "private for the sake and dignity of all parties involved, including the children."
"It was more than disappointing that you nevertheless chose to publicize this matter, creating unnecessary drama and a false 'dispute' by publicly discussing the issue and your letter," he writes. "When I called you yesterday to express my dismay that you had done so, you denied doing so. Apparently, you did not realize that [TMZ's] May 30 story itself literally quotes you as the story's source."
Mathew says Mark's interviews "served no good faith purpose," calling them "undignified, ungracious and unnecessary." He goes on praising the 41-year-old Grammy winner as "an icon, loved and respected by millions throughout the world," as well as a "loving and supportive mother, faithfully supporting" her kids despite their estrangement.
