AceShowbiz - LeBron James has shed tears of joy. The NBA superstar could not help but get emotional when his son, Bronny James, signed the University of Southern California letter of intent on Wednesday, May 17, making the teen the first one in his family to go to college.
On Thursday, May 18, the 38-year-old shared his excitement over his 18-year-old son's commitment on Instagram. "My boy signed his letter of intent yesterday for @uschoops! So damn happy and proud of you @bronny!! Pops shed a gangsta seeing this. So AMAZING!! #ProudDad #BronnyGoingToCollege #JamesGang #FightOn," he captioned his post.
In the post, LeBron let out two photos documenting his proud moment. The first one captured Bronny smiling to the camera as he sat behind a table with a pen and paper in his hands. Another snap showed LeBron's wife Savannah James and his 15-year-old son Bryce James standing behind Bronny as they posed for a picture together.
Bronny himself first came up with the exciting news via his Instagram account back on May 7. He let out a photo of himself at the USC Trojans' locker room in his high school Sierra Canyon white basketball jersey. In the caption, he made a reference to the University of Southern California's slogan, "Fight On," and added the "committed" hashtag.
Bronny's announcement was quick to attract the attention of many. Kobe Bryant's eldest child Natalia Bryant, who also studies in the USC, wrote in the comments section of the post, "FTFO." She was referring to the university's slogan, "Fight the f**k on." Meanwhile, Nick Young, who was a former USC player, penned, "Welcome to the family bro bro."
Celebrating Bronny's feat, his mother shared a similar photo on her Instagram page on May 7. Accompanying the snap, she wrote, "I am beyond proud and so excited for this next chapter in your journey!!! I know the thought and time that was put into making sure this decision was the right one for YOU!! Can't wait to see what the future holds for you and always know that I have your back, front and sides! 4L LFG!!!!!"
