AceShowbiz - Los Angeles Lakers has given LeBron James a bling reward after he makes history. After the athlete claimed the NBA's scoring king title, his team celebrated that achievement with a unique and lavish tribute.
The Lakers commissioned Eliantte and Co. to create a custom pendant for James. The diamond-laden gold pendant has a lot of elements that symbolize the basketball star. That includes roaring lion that's related to LeBron's Nike brand and a "LJ" logo.
Additionally, the stunning pendant features his jersey numbers 23 and 6. The back of the pendant, meanwhile, shows his career stats and the teams he played for in his career, which are the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Lakers.
It also needs to be noted that the front of the pendant has the words "NBA ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER" written all over it. It also comes with its own box that says "All-Time Leading Scorer" on top and "The Kid From Akron" inside the lid.
"It was a monumental moment that they wanted to commemorate," Simon Babaev of Eliantte and Co. said to USA TODAY Sports. "The inspiration is everything that is LeBron as a person, where he came from, where he is and where he is going."
James broke Kareem-Abdul Jabbar's three-decade-long record during a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Crypto.com Arena on February 7. The 38-year-old passed Kareem's mark of 38,387 after 20 seasons and 1,410 games in total.
The star received congratulatory messages from a number of celebrities. Kendrick Lamar gushed, "From the time you went to the league when you had the doubters and the naysayers and people that think you wouldn't take it this far you proved 'em wrong, dawg."
Rihanna raved, "I am so grateful to witness this moment in history… my favorite thing about being a LeBron James fan is just watching you prove yourself over and over again against all odds and all doubt." She added, "Thank you for repping for all of us. Keep striving for greatness always, and congratulations King James."
Snoop Dogg declared, "It's always fun watching a Laker get it done." As for Drake, he chimed in, "What a legendary night in NBA history."
