AceShowbiz - Aaron Rodgers finally sees the light. The Green Bay Packers quarterback leaves the Sky Cave Retreats in Oregon facility on Wednesday, February 23 as he ends his "darkness retreat" early.
The 39-year-old NFL superstar spent the past few days completely disconnected from the world at the Oregon facility. According to the facility's owner Scott Berman, he stayed in a 300-square-foot room that had zero natural lighting.
Scott told ESPN that Aaron's room was partially underground and included a queen-sized bed, bathroom and a meditation mat. The athlete previously said he was going to spend four days and four nights off the grid and out of the light in an attempt to clear his head before deciding what to do with his career.
Aaron left Sky Cave Retreats two days after his scheduled entrance on Monday, per NFL Network last week. He originally told "The Pat McAfee Show" that he would spend four days in total darkness "to contemplate all things" and "make a decision that I feel like is best for me moving forward in the highest interest in my happiness."
The spirituality journey both ends and restarts the wild saga that is Aaron's 2023 offseason. He and the Green Bay Packers have an important choice to make when it comes to the future of both the quarterback and the team. Aaron and the Packers could either remain together or separate, either with a trade or through retirement. All options have been rumored and dissected already this offseason and it's impossible to know which direction the wind will blow until he and the Packers make a decision.
Aaron will make $60 million this season if he remains with the Packers under his current contract. The New York Jets are reportedly interested in trading for him and there has been some talk that the Packers are ready to move on from him. Aaron has also indicated that he might decide to walk away. He has not yet spoken publicly since leaving the retreat.
