Discussing the matter in a new episode of the 'Unapologetic with Julia Jeffress Sadler' podcast, the 'Fuller House' actress shares how she deals with the backlash over her controversial 'traditional marriage' remarks.

AceShowbiz - If Candace Cameron Bure didn't believe in cancel culture before, she definitely does now. The "Fuller House" noted in a new interview that "cancel culture's real" after she came under fire for her controversial "traditional marriage" comments.

Discussing the matter in a new episode of the "Unapologetic with Julia Jeffress Sadler" podcast, the actress shared how she dealt with the backlash. "It's difficult. And it's hard, but listen, I just want to encourage you that you are not the only one and there are lots of us, and we are always stronger together," she admitted.

During the interview, Candace also talked about the difficulty in sticking by her Christian beliefs in Hollywood. "It's hard, no matter what. Especially when you are a compassionate person and you have a heart for people," she shared. "But it's important that we speak truth in love, 'cause, listen, nobody's gonna change, nobody's gonna listen to you when it comes out angry, when it comes out in a harsh way, but it's important that we don't back down."

The actress additionally encouraged others to follow their dreams and their faith to Hollywood. "There are lots of Christians in the entertainment industry," she divulged. "Some of them you have to find. Some of them are not as outspoken as others, because of the stigmas that might be around being a Christian in entertainment. But there are lots of us."

Candace received backlash last year when she gushed over Great American Family, where she is also a chief creative officer, and stressed that its content wouldn't feature LGBTQ+ storylines. "I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core," she said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

In response to the criticism, Candance said in a statement that she has "great love and affection for all people." She continued, "It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone."

Prior to moving to Great American Family, Candace was previously a mainstay on Hallmark Channel, which aired "The Holiday Sitter", its first original movie featuring a same-sex couple, in 2022.
