Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role as 'Queen of Christmas' on Hallmark, explains herself after making a controversial switch to Great American Family.

AceShowbiz - Candace Cameron Bure has made her transition from Hallmark to the Great American Family network, where she has found a platform that aligns with her values. She has expressed her enthusiasm for the network's mission to "bring stories of faith" and provide meaningful messages to viewers.

"I love that we are bringing stories of faith,” the actress, 48, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, November 21, while promoting her Great American Christmas movies. "We have ones that aren’t about faith and more in the traditional rom-com space, but our viewers really want messages that are more meaningful."

She added, "We know the reason we celebrate Christmas is because of the birth of Christ. I've made tons of [movies] that don't ever mention the real meaning of Christmas. So just the fact that we mention God or there's a scripture or there's a biblical message that might be a proverb, someone might hear it and go, 'Oh, that's really good advice.' They might not realize it comes from the Bible, but we love putting that in the movies."

Bure, who starred in numerous Hallmark Christmas movies, including the "Aurora Teagarden" series, announced her departure from Hallmark in 2022, sparking backlash from fans. She explained that the network had become "a completely different network than when I started" and that she desired to tell stories with more depth and meaning.

In her new role as Chief Content Officer for Great American Family, Bure will oversee the development, production, and starring in films for the network. She believes that the network's programming resonates with viewers who value and commemorate the religious significance of Christmas.

"We know the reason we celebrate Christmas is because of the birth of Christ," she said. "I've made tons of movies that don't ever mention the real meaning of Christmas. So just the fact that we mention God or there's a scripture or there's a biblical message that might be a proverb, someone might hear it and go, 'Oh, that's really good advice.'"

While Bure acknowledges that some of her fans miss her Hallmark characters, like Aurora Teagarden, she has created a similar character for Great American Family's "Ainsley McGregor Mysteries". Despite the similarities, she emphasizes that the behind-the-scenes team remains largely the same.

Bure's first Great American Christmas movie, "A Christmas Less Traveled," premiered earlier this month, followed by "Home Sweet Christmas" on December 1st. She also announced her involvement in the network's immersive Christmas Festival in New York City from November 22nd to December 29th, offering a variety of family-friendly holiday experiences.
