The English star, who portrayed Rose DeWitt Bukater in the 1997 James Cameron blockbuster, says in an interview that she 'would have used my voice in a completely different way' regarding body-shaming if she could turn back time.

AceShowbiz - Kate Winslet recalled the unpleasant experience she got early in her career. Noting that she got body-shamed by the media and public due to the ending of "Titanic", the Oscar winner insisted she wasn't even "f**king fat."
When appearing on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast ahead of the film's 25th anniversary, Kate told host Josh Horowitz that there were arguments saying Leonardo DiCaprio's character, Jack Dawson, couldn't fit the door before his death because "apparently, I was too fat." She added, "Isn't it awful? Why were they so mean to me? They were so mean. I wasn't even f**king fat."
"If I could turn back the clock, I would have used my voice in a completely different way," the 47-year-old continued explaining. "I would have said to journalists, I would have responded, I would have said, 'Don't you dare treat me like this. I'm a young woman, my body is changing, I'm figuring it out, I'm deeply insecure, I'm terrified, don't make this any harder than it already is.' That's bullying, you know, and actually borderline abusive, I would say."
Kate previously got candid about the "straight-up cruel" treatment she got from tabloids. "I was still figuring out who the hell I bloody well was!" she said when speaking to The Guardian last February.
"They would comment on my size, they'd estimate what I weighed, they'd print the supposed diet I was on," the English star, who portrayed Rose DeWitt Bukater in the 1997 James Cameron blockbuster, recounted. "It was critical and horrible and so upsetting to read."
