AceShowbiz - Kyrie Irving earns praises from social media users for his thoughtful gesture. The Brooklyn Nets player has been applauded for making a hefty donation to Shanquella Robinson's family.

On Friday, November 18, the 30-year-old basketball player's name was spotted on Shanquella's GoFundMe account. It could be seen that he donated $65,000 to support Shanquella's family in their fight for justice following her tragic death.

Upon noticing Kyrie's donation, social media users were quick to applaud the athlete, who recently landed in hot water for his anti-Semitic scandal. "Salute @KyrieIrving !! Help getting justice for #ShanquillaRobinson and her family," one person tweeted. A second added, "@KyrieIrving SALUTE ! you literally gave this family the biggest push ever justice is otw fashooo !"

"@KyrieIrving giving to Shaquella's go fund me is big," someone else posted, "Not because of the amount but because the story behind it is heartbreaking and this is part of the reason our parents drill in us that everyone isn't our friends." Another chimed in, "Kyrie Irving donated $65,000 to the girl who passed away in Mexico GofundMe account. I love them type of people."

The campaign was launched on Thursday, November 17 by Shanquella's sister, Quilla Long. The message written on the page read, "My name is Quilla Long, the sister of Shanquella Robinson. My beautiful sister #ShanquellaRobinson, recently went on a trip to Cabo, Mexico, with people she believed were her friends."

"During this trip, she was found dead," it continued. "Her associates claimed she died of alcohol poisoning, but the death certificate from the Mexican government contradicts this statement as it reveals a broken neck and cracked spine and a time of death which is 15 minutes after she sustained these injuries."

Quilla further explained, "The United States State Department released a statement claiming 'no clear evidence of foul play,' yet there is a video circulating of a woman violently attacking Shanquella." She then noted that the statement "is unacceptable" for their family and that they're "beyond devastated." Concluding the message, she declared, "We continue to fight for the truth."

As for now, the GoFundMe is at $260,000 and that the death of Shanquella is being treated as a potential homicide by Mexican authorities. According to a report, the death is under investigation as an "isolated criminal matter."
