The former host of 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' has been forced to cancel his appearance at a financial conference in Las Vegas as he remains in a Los Angeles hospital due to his injuries.

AceShowbiz - Jay Leno has given fans an update on his condition after suffering "serious burns" from a gasoline fire. In a statement to Variety, the former host of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" assured that he's okay.

"I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire," the 72-year-old TV personality and comedian told the publication. "I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet."

According to TMZ, Jay was rushed to Grossman Burn Center on Sunday, November 13 after a fire erupted in his Los Angeles car garage. It was said that one of the vehicles burst into flames and left him with burns on his face.

Meanwhile, PEOPLE reported that Jay was set to perform at a financial conference in Las Vegas on Sunday night. An email to Forum 2022 attendees from The Financial Brand read, "His family was not able to provide us very many details."

"But there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling," it added. "All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight."

The incident took place three years after Jay opened up about his high cholesterol diagnosis. When detailing a scan of a blockage in his heart in a 2019 video, he also encourages people to do routine check-ups and apply a healthy diet.

"We really want people to see the connection, because a lot of people don't realize high cholesterol - and if you've had a heart attack or stroke, you're increasing your risk for another one," he said at the time. "It's like an earthquake, it might not destroy the house, but it certainly weakens the structure."
