During 'Happy Hour With Adele' chat, the 'Easy on Me' hitmaker praises a fan from London for correctly pronouncing her name before revealing many have been pronouncing it wrong.

AceShowbiz - Adele has revealed that many have been pronouncing her name wrong. In a new Q&A session, the "Easy on Me" hitmaker set the record straight on how to correctly pronounce her name.

During the "Happy Hour With Adele" chat with fans to celebrate her cinematic "I Drink Wine" music video, the 34-year-old praised her fan, Annie from London, who correctly pronounced her name. Annie had a thoughtful question about whether the singer's perspective on her journey to self-love during the recording of her "25" album changed while writing "30".

"Where's she from, Enfield or something? Love that," Adele responded. "She said my name perfectly," the "Someone Like You" singer added with a smile, noting that she'd had a discussion with chat's host Benito Skinner a.k.a. Benny Drama earlier about how her name should be pronounced.

Adele told the audience, "He came and asked me how I say my name and I said 'Uh-del.' " The Grammy-winning musician added, "So, for the record, if you've been saying 'Ah-del' this whole time, well, you've been doing it wrong." She went on to say she prefers a slight lilt at the end of her name so that it is pronounced "uh-dehwl." The pronunciation is more in line with her North London accent.

Adele then answered the question, "On '25' (album released in 2015), I was very in control of my life. I'd just had my son, it was very much 9-to-5. I'd go to the studio and stuff like that...I felt very very safe and in safe hands within my private life." She continued, "On '30', I just had to accept I had no idea what I was doing, I had no control over my life and I had to ride the wave."

Adele added that she'd felt like "a bad person" while she was working on her latest album, which came after her divorce from Simon Konecki. "I felt like a weak person. But I knew...the only thing that I wanted to do, the thing that got me out of bed really, was knowing I'm going to the studio," she explained.

"I guess I fell pretty far down in my estimations of myself when I was working on it," she noted, before concluding, "But then, by the end, through all the hard work and patience, I restored my faith in myself."
