The 'Thank U, Next' hitmaker is portraying the role of Glinda the Good Witch of the North in the musical movie, which will be released in two separate parts.

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande is getting a hair transformation for her role in "Wicked". Taking to her social media platform, the pop star/actress debuted her blonde hair as she's getting into Glinda the Good Witch character.

On Wednesday, October 26, the "Thank U, Next" hitmaker turned to her Instagram page to share a close-up photo of her new hair. The chart-topping artist poses with her eyes closed, head turned to the side to show off her brand-new blonde ponytail.

Ariana's eyebrows appear to be dyed to match the shade of her hair, mimicking the Good Witch of the North's naturally blonde look. Despite her gravity-defyingly big reveal, the "Positions" singer played coy in her caption. "new earrings," she simply wrote.

Nevertheless, fans in the comments knew exactly what she was doing. "GLINDA ERA," replied one Instagram user. Another exclaimed, "glindaaaaaaa!!!!!!!" with someone else adding, "Galindafied!"

"Good news, She's HERE," commented Jordan Barrow, who plays Boq in the Broadway cast of "Wicked", referencing lyrics to the musical's opening number. Cynthia Erivo, on the other hand, played along with the pop star's slyness. "Earrings are AMAZING!!" commented the actress, who will star opposite Ariana in "Wicked" as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba. Jon M. Chu, the director of the musical's film adaptation, quipped, "Earrings look great!"

Ariana has been cast to portray the role of Glinda in "Wicked", which will be split into two separate parts, one released in 2024, and the other half the following year. "Bridgerton" star Jonathan Bailey has also been cast to play the character of Fiyero.

Previously, Ariana clarified that she won't be releasing new music until she has finished filming the musical movie. The "God Is a Woman" songstress told her fans about her decision in a video posted on her makeup line R.E.M. Beauty's YouTube channel, declaring, "I'm spending all of my time with Glinda."

"I feel like I want to have a little bit of transparency and honesty with my fans. The truth is, I have not begun an album," Ariana shared. She further pointed out that after releasing "positions," she was "not ready" to restart the process. "I hear through the grapevine that you have a lot of theories and expectations in that department. But after 'positions', [I] was not ready to start another album yet, so I have not begun another album," she explained.

Interestingly, in September, Kali Uchis revealed that she and Ariana will be hitting the recording studio together for a collaboration after the pop star is "done" with her "Wicked" movie. "She's not recording right now," the "telepatia" hitmaker explained, "Because working on her movie stuff; her play that she's doing… She said that when she's done with that, we are going to work."
