AceShowbiz - Did Selena Gomez just subtly address Hailey Baldwin's viral interview about Justin Bieber? During a live streaming session, the "Lose You to Love Me" singer stressed that "words truly matter."
On Friday, September 29, the 30-year-old singer/actress made a brief and rare appearance during TikTok Live after Hailey's "Call Her Daddy" podcast interview, in which the model shut down rumors that Justin ever dated her and his on-off ex-girlfriend at the same time, was published.
Though Selena didn't explicitly address Hailey's infamous interview, she reminded her fans that words they say about other people matter. Many of Jelena then believed that the "Only Murders in the Building" actress talked about Hailey's interview.
"I think some of the things that I don't even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting," Selena said near the end of her live session. "And it's not fair because no one ever should be spoken to in the manner that I've seen and all I have to say is it's incredibly ironic that I would release something that is all about kind words [her makeup line Rare Beauty's Kind Words Matte lipstick and lip liners, which Selena did a press tour of Europe to promote] 'cause that's exactly what I want. That's it."
Selena added, "If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means and that is words matter." She further stressed, "Truly matter," before adding, "So it's coming from me, and I just want all of you to know that I hope that you understand that this is much bigger than anything else. I'm really grateful to all of you for hearing me out, so have a wonderful rest of your day, and I appreciate all the love. Thank you."
Hailey got very candid about the timeline of her and Justin's love life in the September 28 episode of "Call Her Daddy" podcast. In it, the daughter of Stephen Baldwin said that there's "no drama" between her and Selena.
"It's all respect. It's all love," Hailey told host Alex Cooper. "That's also why I feel like, well, if everybody on our side knows what happened and we're good and we can walk away from it with clarity and respect, then that's fine! That brought me a lot of peace. We know what happened. It is what it is. You're never going to be able to correct every narrative."
Shutting down speculation she "stole" Justin from Selena, Hailey said, "No, not once. When him and I started hooking up, or anything of that sort, he was not in any relationship. It's not my character to mess with someone's relationship, I was raised better than that. I'm not interested in doing that and I never was."
