AceShowbiz - Malia Obama is fueling rumors that she's dating Dawit Eklund. The daughter of Barack Obama was caught on camera taking stroll in New York City with her rumored boyfriend on Monday, September 12.
In some photos that circulated online, the 24-year-old former First Daughter and the 33-year-old record producer were seen walking around Manhattan's Soho neighborhood together. The alleged lovebirds, who opted for casual looks for the outing, later went to Chinatown to grab lunch.
For the sunny outing, Malia looked casually stylish in a denim shirt and beige cargo pants. While styling her hair in long braids, she completed her look with a pair of sneakers and dark sunglasses. Dawit, meanwhile, matched her streetwear vibe as he donned a green shirt, khaki pants, sneakers and a black jacket with daisy prints on it.
The new outing came after the two were seen spending some time together in L.A. in August. At the time, the potential lovers were spotted visiting the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
The TV writer and the music exec didn't show any PDA on both occasions. However, the two shared an embrace in the August outing. Dawit, who co-founded record label 1432 R alongside Joyce Lim and Sami Yenigun in Washington D.C., was also seen resting his hand on Malia's waist as she caressed the back of his neck.
Back in 2018, Malia was pictured walking around the Big Apple with her former boyfriend Rory Farquharson. She began dating her Harvard schoolmate in 2017, and it remains unknown when and why the two split.
As for her sister, Sasha is currently in a romantic relationship with Clifton Powell Jr. Their mom Michelle confirmed their romance during her appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" back in April.
